Get Ready...

Chiditarod 2007 fast approaches. This year's race will once again grace the Wicker Park and Ukrainian Village Neighborhoods. Please familiarize yourself with the race on the rules page. Registration will be open shortly.

Compete

There will be many types of racers/teams with different goals. One such goal is to win the race. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd place teams. Read the full rules for more information.

Get Creative

Each team is encouraged to decorate their carts and themselves. Pick a theme. Go nuts. Prizes are awarded for the most creative teams. And by prizes, we mean cash money. Consult Urban Iditarods of other cities for inspiration.

Have Fun

The race will include teams from all demographics, races, creeds, and interests. It will foster community growth and creativity by bringing people together on race day to compete, mingle, and celebrate with each other. It will help signify the end of winter and promote the wonderful Chicago summer to come. AND it will help others by being the largest mobile food drive anywhere on the planet.

Participate

You may register for the Chiditarod online. Some very interesting folks have already decided to run in our urban iditarod. We are also looking for volunteers to help judge, officiate, and bring the communities together. Please contact us ASAP if interested, as slots are going fast!
