ChiditaBowl 2016

Let’s go Bowling.  An all-team, all-participant fundraiser for the 2016 CHIditarod. We had so much fun doing it in 2014 that we’re bringing it back for the winter of 2016.

    Re-rollin’ Roughshod Over Hunger!

    Date: January 15, 2016
    Time: 10:00 pm until close

    But, why?
First, because bowling is the 2nd best leisure sport on the planet (CHIditarod is the first, of course). Remember 2014’s bowling event? It was awesome. We’ll be returning to Timberlanes — one of Chicago’s classic independent bowling alleys — up on the north side. We start promptly at 10 pm (when league play ends) and hit it hard until close (2 am).

We’ll have music, a 16-bracket bowl-off (with modifications to prevent the hurriedness of 2014), an open bar package, probably some kickass trophies, and most importantly, an opportunity to rock out and roll down with fellow Chiditarodders collaboratively (indoors, no less). Save your cunning sabotage for race day, leave the cart at home, don your best bowling attire, pick up yer date, polish your balls, and make fundraising easy, fun, and raucous.

Your $40 ticket includes: bowling, shoe rental, photobooth, and a beer, wine, juice, and soda drink package from 10pm-2am. We’re working with an epic Chicago microbrewery to supply tasty some microbrew, too.

The event is limited to 200 firm — so there’s not a moment to spare.

$20 event package: All the perks but no drink package. This is really ONLY for Designated Drivers and those who will not be drinking. Still supportin’ the cause. We love you!

    How does fundraising work?
When you purchase tickets you can specify what team (or person) that should get credit for the price of your tickets. The cost of your tickets will then be tallied in their team fundraising totals for 2016. It’s a really simple and accessible way for teams to fundraise — just come to the party! All proceeds benefit our beloved CHIditarod Foundation in support of our ongoing microgrant program ($70,000 granted and counting!) supporting Chicago-area 501c3 organizations who are solving hunger in innovative ways.

How will teams work for the bowling tournament?
Bowling teams can be 2-3 people each, no more, no less. If you want to participate in the tournament but are an individual, we’ll have a sign up sheet for lone wolves at registration where you can add your name to get paired up. We’ll also have some dedicated lanes just for random bowling.

Do I have to support a team racing in CHIditarod?
No, not at all! You can just come bowl with us and enjoy the evening. We’d love to have you. Honest.
