Racer Registration is OPEN for CHIditarod XXI

Registration for CHIditarod XXI opens December 26, 2025.  To race, you must have a team of 5 people, a decorated shopping cart, REGISTER, pay the registration fee and cart deposit, have at least one team member attend a racer orientation, and bring the correct poundage of food to the starting line. There are absolutely, positively NO walk-up, race-day registrations allowed.

  • December 26, 2025: Tier I Registration opens – $130 per team
  • January 8, 2026: Tier II Registration begins – $150 per team
  • February 8, 2026: Tier III Registration begins – $170 per team
  • Registration closed on February 22, 2026 at 11:59:59CT
  • SuperFan Tickets will go on sale Feb 22

As in years past, registration fees are non-refundable, and there will be date-based pricing tiers. The earlier you commit, the cheaper your registration will be. All times are in the USA Central Time Zone.  Additionally, all teams are required to pay a separate, refundable $88 cart deposit.

SuperFan Registration

Want to be able to see your friends off from The Yard in the morning and watch them win prizes at the Awards Ceremony, but you aren’t racing yourself? Well, then you’re a Chiditarod SuperFan, and we have a special registration just for you…

A SuperFan registration allows entry to The Yard for the morning’s festivities, and to the Awards Ceremony at the end of the day (location to be revealed on Race Day). 

  • Each registration must be completed separately for the purposes of tracking names at the gate
  • In addition to your SuperFan donation, you are to bring 10lbs of non-perishable food for GCFD
  • SuperFans must be 21 years of age or older
  • Gate will open for SuperFans at 10:15am. No earlier. Gotta get Racers in first, y’know?
  • A light breakfast will be available. Cobra Lounge will be open
  • Race begins at 12:30pm and The Yard closes thereafter
  • You will be required to sign a waiver prior to entry 
  • There will be a maximum of 75 SuperFans allowed
  • THERE IS NO SABOTAGE ALLOWED BY SUPERFANS
  • THERE IS NO SABOTAGE IN THE YARD, PERIOD
  • SuperFan registration ends at 11:59PM CT Thursday, Feb 29

CHIditarod in a Nutshell

  1. Read all of the rules. Yes, all of them.
  2. Click on the “Register” button (above, if registration is open)
  3. Register your team and submit registration fees and your cart deposit
  4. Receive email from us confirming your full registration, which also has links to your automatically-created fundraising page
  5. Customize your team’s fundraising page
  6. Borrow a shopping cart (or buy one)
  7. Figure out a theme
  8. Unleash creative beast on selves and cart
  9. Collect food/toiletries or buy your way out with $125 — 69 pounds minimum
  10. Fundraise like maniacs
  11. Attend mandatory racer orientation on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 6:30 pm CT at Midwest Coast Brewing.
  12. Receive informational emails from us about race day. Read them all
  13. On Saturday March 7, 2026, bring all your stuff to CHIditarod (food, cart, teammates, good cheer)
  14. Give your food to the food truck. You will not be able to check in without all of your food.
  15. GLORY, EPIC, FUN, ADVENTURE, MUSH!
  16. Run with Epic smiles and strides across the finish line
  17. Attend award ceremony.
  18. Take your cart home with you
  19. Follow instructions for getting cart deposit back
  20. Begin nefarious planning for next year…
